Pearly Gates!

I had been away from home for about 3 weeks and the morning after my return, I got back into my usual routine and started cleaning the house. What fascinated me is that even though I had not been in my house for a while, with all doors and windows closed, and no one there; dust still accumulated. I have come to learn that the natural is a manifestation of the spiritual hence I meditated over what this could mean and an interesting revelation presented itself. We are in a natural state of decay and have to constantly clean up to somehow delay or camouflage this process. In the physical, one is forced to clean their surroundings because seeing dirt all over the place is unbearable. Our souls constantly need cleaning but because we are not consciously doing so, there is a lot of ‘dust’ that has accumulated. Imagine the ‘dirt’ that has accumulated in our souls that has not been cleaned because we do not see it physically. What are we filling our bodies, minds and souls with? Are we spiritually alert to realise when there is turmoil in our spiritual lives? This then led me to start thinking of how I can consciously ensure that my spiritual radar is alert so that when ‘dirt’ is accumulating, I immediately clean it up. How do I ensure that this radar is functional? I was introduced to spiritual strategy. How do I feed my spirit? We have strategies for every other area in our lives that have to do with our sustenance here on earth, but for eternity, which is the most important, we have nothing! I always imagine getting to heaven’s gates, all dressed up and being told, sorry your name is not on the guest list simply because I did not invest wisely in the kingdom while here on earth. I imagine being asked by God, “With all the influence that I gave you, how many souls did you win for me?” *blank stare* Let’s get our spiritual strategies in check and the first port of call is investing your time and energy in the Word. Renew your mind and become familiar with the word of God and the promises therein for you. “When what you believe infiltrates your behaviour the foundation is set.” T.D. Jakes. ‘As a man thinketh, so is he.’ What you think will ultimately permeate to every area of your life. You will be transformed by the renewing of your mind. The soul session series aim to help you find ways to feed your soul. I hope we can journey in this together and hopefully see your name on the guest list at the Pearly Gates!
